I have created a lot of new resources lately to stock The Art Curator for Kids Resource Library that I haven’t yet put up on the blog, so I working on getting them all up today and tomorrow. This ancient art history lesson covers the art of Sumer in Mesopotamia/the Ancient Near East.
In addition to the context and characteristics of the art of Sumer, the lesson covers the following artworks: the Standard of Ur, cunieform, Ziggurat of Ur, and the Tell Asmar hoard. Learning activities include a group art interpretation activity, clay activity, discussion questions, compare and contrast, and a poetry activity.
The Sumer art lesson files include:
- Group Art Analysis activity worksheet (.doc and .pdf)
- Poetry activity sheet (.pdf)
- Assessment questions (.doc and .pdf)
