Hi, I’m Cindy Ingram, the innovator behind The Art Curator for Kids. I’m passionate about the power that art can have in our lives! My goal is to share creative teaching practices that ignite curiosity and connections for teachers and their students. My philosophy, in a nutshell, is that we can learn to experience art in varied and exciting ways that can transform our understanding of the world around us. When students interact meaningfully with individual works of art, the art becomes a part of them and shapes who they become.
My experience as art educator, content creator, speaker, and entrepreneur with more than fifteen years of experience in schools, museums, and non-profit organizations, has provided insight into practices for art education breakthroughs. I’ve taught art and art history at all levels – for elementary through college-age students as well as adult art teachers.
To share my ideas about teaching art history and appreciation with parent and professional educators, I started The Art Curator for Kids in 2014 and began offering online content for teachers and students. My online classes and membership program, serving groups of various ages and needs, have drawn hundreds of participants. In 2017, my goal is to share my resources with more teachers and their students through art history courses, online trainings, and powerful ready-to-use arts resources.
I earned a BA in Art History from the University of Texas (hook’em horns!) and an MA in Art Education, with a specialty in Art Museum Education, from the University of North Texas.
I live and teach in Dallas, Texas, with my awesome science nerd husband and two zany, lovely daughters (ages 4 and 7). I love traveling – to visit favorite and new museums and galleries and art history sites, of course – in the US and abroad, and am midway through a 10 year plan to take my family on a grand art education adventure around the world.
Art is my passion, and I want to share that with you and your kids. My mission is to help parents and teachers become more comfortable looking at art with their kids and students.
